Great performances by everyone
After the disappointing fourth season of Jack Ryan and the overall average shows, this was much better in every way. It looks really good and the action and fight scenes look amazing. I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments comes down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole female operator thing, and as a guy I don’t care about a good female-led action show, this is an original IP that doesn’t turn a male protagonist into a female protagonist.
Other than that I haven’t seen any red flags so far like it makes all the men look incompetent or anything like that
Also, at first I thought it was going to be more of an action show, pointless, but then they delved into the family a bit and I’m usually embarrassed about that, but I didn’t like what they did there. My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular group of operators are doing is very limiting and could kill the story, moving on from the plot/villain of the season… it needs to be more encompassing so they can eventually have a new Homeland with more action and fast pacing, otherwise it could become too episodic like Blacklist.
We’ll see what the great Morgan Freeman brings to the show
PS: Nicole Kidman’s role is incredibly small and unadventurous so far, it could have been played by anyone else… But from what I’ve seen so far, the show could stand on its own with Zaldan, without any other A-Listers. TLDR Overall, cautiously optimistic, but I like what I’m seeing so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done.
