Tale
Charles, a retiree, finds a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The Mole Agent” the documentary is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar regardless of age, ethnicity or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very reductive way as: “I have to call my mother on our show, we tried to do that.” something similar with the tone: our show fundamentally contributes to that feeling of wanting to call our mom?.
These actors only get better with age and they are wonderfully cast in this sweet comedy series!
I’m 67 and it’s been wonderful to see so many actors of our generation and their great comedic styles. The script gets a little lost in trying to solve the mystery and delves more into the characters’ stories.
It’s not really a mystery
It’s okay because halfway through you have a pretty good idea who the culprit is. You don’t care that it’s not really a mystery because you’re just having fun watching these old golden age people work and show off their stuff.

Just a tribute to how brave you have to be as an older person and still be active and feel in our youth-oriented society. What a sweet tribute to those who support us and help us navigate the minefields of aging this series was.
